Journeyman -music & lyrics by Roy Evan Burstiner

Walking by myself near the riverbank,
Looking past the country that I see

All the roads I’ve traveled and the people I’ve met
Burned in my memory

Worn out sneakers are the medals I wear,
Miles imprinted in their soles

Highway signs are markings for all the years
Never paved with silver or gold.

With this old guitar slung across my back,
Playing for a meal or a bed

Friendships made in almost every town
Like the stories in the books I’ve read

Seeing all the names on the trees I’ve passed
Smelling all the flowers thru the land
Farmers waving as I walk by all their fields
Offering a helping hand

Playing all my songs on crowded streets at night
Lay your coins in my empty case
Little children sing along with all their hearts
Smiling wide from each and every face

Blue jeans torn from journeys fifty years or more
Hiking thru the land of this country
If we’ve never met you’ll get a song and smile
From this guitar man you see
From this guitar man you'll see
From this guitar man you'll see
